Switzerland is among the leading countries enabling Article 6.2 transactions, directing finance to host-country projects and facilitating access to high-quality credits aligned with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), including Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs). The session will offer a peer-to-peer forum to explore how private capital can be mobilised through high-integrity carbon markets to meet these commitments. ClimeFi will co-host a fireside chat at Climate Week Zurich with NextGen CDR on Thursday 7th May at 18:00, bringing together 1PointFive's Keeton Ross and Professor Bjarne Steffen of ETH Zurich for a candid discussion on the scaling of direct air carbon capture and storage (DACCS) and its potential in carbon markets.
The conversation will draw on 1PointFive's industrial experience developing Project Stratos in Texas and ETH Zurich's leading academic research on DACCS cost and revenue modelling - offering a rare blend of practitioner insight and rigorous analysis. ClimeFi will participate in Shanghai Climate Week (21st to 24th April) - a landmark moment as carbon dioxide removal (CDR) events feature as a dedicated track within the week for the very first time. These CDR events have been co-organised by ClimeFi and Puro.earth in close collaboration with local Chinese stakeholders including HaiQi New Energy Group, ClimateFuture, CNEEEX, and Eversink.
